Bishop Jesse McNeill

Senior Pastor

In the year of 1961, Bishop Jesse Alton McNeill Sr., was called to the Pastorate.

He presently serves as presiding prelate of the Mt. Zion Pentecostal Churches of God Inc.; Headquarters Church in Elizabeth, NJ. Bishop McNeill has been happily married to one (1) wife, Callie McNeill, for 53 years. They are the proud

parents of five (5) children and twelve (12) grandchildren. Early in his ministry being filled with an indistinguishable desire to know the Lord, do the will of the Lord and to find himself approved, the newly called pastor asked the Lord for wisdom to come before the people and to lead them into righteousness. Elder Jesse McNeill sought guidance from the elders during that generation and thesecornerstones of the Pentecostal church embraced and showed him the way: Evangelist Luvenia McNeill and Deacon Ervin McNeill (his parents), Bishop Faison, Bishop Paul McKoy, Elder Dallas McLean, and in the later years Bishop Willie P. Gray.

Elder Jesse served as Pastor of Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church of God in Lillington, North Carolina for many years. He labored in this vineyard and conducted many revivals; where the Lord saved, healed, and miracles were performed. Elder Jesse began to mentor pastors and helped establish churches throughout N.C. piedmont. He began his ministry in NJ and it grew from home prayer meetings to a house of worship in Newark, and later Elizabeth, NJ.

In this edifice, he was ordained as Bishop under the auspice of the Pentecostal Assembly of the World (PAW) by Bishop Burell. Bishop McNeill grew in the grace and knowledge of God and having favor among ministerial alliances then formed a bond with other pastoral brothers whom were affectionately called; “The Four Horsemen” (Bishop Milton Hobbs, Bishop James Howard, Bishop Willie Smith and Bishop Jesse McNeill Sr.). After being persuaded by Dr. Odessa McNeill to attend a bible College, he became a distinguished graduate of the Manhattan Bible

Institute, NYC.

Due to his love for the Word, Bishop Jesse McNeill was bestowed the highest recognition. He is the recipient of a Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from United Theological Seminary; Orlando, Fl. Now having been a pastor for more then 50 years, he still has a hunger and thirst to know the Lord and in holiness come before His people. Through Bishop Jesse’s vision, Soul Winning, God has expanded his boundaries:

Established classes focused on training leaders in the practice of Leadership and Development. Labored, then incorporated Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship Church, Inc. NC; Pastor, James Otis McNeill. New Beginning (CDC) was birth and many souls have been saved, baptized, healed and delivered through this Outreach Program. This Outreach has reached another dimension and grown into a Sunday Morning 8:00 service, where Elder Ronald Simpson is pastor. Blessed to have a holy and dedicated ministerial staff to bring the full gospel to those seeking the Lord and are called according to his purpose.

Steward of the Redeemed Tabernacle of Deliverance, Patterson, NJ; founded by Pastor Glenis McCloud. Developed sons and daughters in Christ whom are among you; preparing them to serve the Lord in Kingdom Building all over the United States. These works have extended to the utter most parts of the

world through his son in Christ - Bishop Tony McNeill, pastor of Praise Temple in Linden NJ.

“Having therefore obtained help of God, he has continued until this day witnessing both to the small and great”……….Act 26:22
